Crayola Project

Commercial Crayola

PROJECT TYPE: Plan and Spec
INDUSTRY TYPE: Commercial

Burkholder’s HVAC recently partnered with Crayola to complete a major rooftop unit replacement at their Forks II location in Easton, PA. The project included the installation of eighteen (18) gas-fired rooftop units, delivering a combined total of 320 tons of air conditioning to the facility.

In preparation, all existing rooftop units were disconnected during the week leading up to Memorial Day. Then, on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, all old units were removed and the new RTUs were set in place using a 250-ton crane. Each of the new units was installed on an adapter curb, allowing them to be mounted directly onto the existing roof curbs without requiring any modifications to the existing ductwork. This strategic use of adapter curbs saved time, labor costs, and reduced the risk of roof damage.

To support the new system, Burkholder’s also installed a brand-new gas line, mounted securely on the roof.

By the following week, all units were fully connected and cooling the building, delivering reliable, energy-efficient comfort to the Crayola facility just in time for summer.
