Air + Water Cooled Chillers

Cool Choices for Your Building

Air and Water ChillersThe technicians at Burkholder’s HVAC have installed both air cooled chillers and water cooled chillers in a variety of commercial buildings, depending upon the cooling requirements. While air cooled chillers do not require cooling towers or water pumps, some argue that a water cooled chiller offers better performance. We will help you decide which solution is best for your business.

For small to medium applications where space is limited, air cooled chillers offer efficient cooling with a very small footprint. However, that does not mean that large plants with greater cooling requirements are limited to using water cooled chillers. While air-cooled systems require ample air circulation because of the compressor’s heat rejection, water-cooled units also have special considerations for installation such as placement and the sheer size of the cooling towers. At Burkholder’s HVAC, we will work with you to determine the best option to support your needs. We have expert installers and will even perform maintenance on an existing chiller, whether we installed it or not!
